Research
SIER builds on the work of the Stanford Mussallem Center for Biodesign and the Stanford Technology Ventures Program, enabling researchers to examine why some entrepreneurs persist and ultimately achieve their goals, while others do not.
Addressing Entrepreneurs' Needs
Selected from the graduating class of Innovation Fellows, Stanford Biodesign’s second-year SIER Fellows are applying Biodesign principles to innovate new solutions to support entrepreneurial resilience and well-being. With the support of faculty, they are conducting first hand needs finding to understand the most compelling unmet needs in the space, with the goal of developing scalable, technology-enabled solutions for the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Their insights will also be incorporated into future educational practices for Stanford Biodesign’s Innovation Fellows, to help us nurture successful, enduring entrepreneurs.

Understanding Entrepreneurs' Success
STVP faculty and PhD students are working to research, understand, and promote the traits that define successful entrepreneurs. Using these findings, researchers will create curricula and programs to support entrepreneurs’ success as well as their mental health and well-being as they undertake difficult leadership roles.
